Diamonds, millions of dollars, designers and… deceit? After a dysfunctional childhood with a father who abandoned her, a traumatic rape while in college and a marriage to a man that uses her as a whipping post, Kay has decided enough was enough. She lives inside a lie projecting the image of the perfect, upper class, posh lifestyle even as she’s resigned herself to be alone and lonely behind the fraudulent image. At least she had, until Ryder Sinclaire came into the picture.

Gorgeous, dangerous and pulled to him like a drug she fights herself and the way her body reacts to his;  his ice blue eyes captivate her and his touch melts her cold heart, allowing her to feel things she had ruled out a long time ago. She finds the courage to find herself, her happiness but is seemingly thwarted at every turn. Finding out her whole life was a long list of lies added to her irrational and infuriating attraction to a relative stranger, cause Kay to re-evaluate everything she thought she had ever known. Will she be tempted beyond reason and seek that one thing she had never thought to obtain? Or will she allow the coldness to finally seize her heart and deny the joys that come with finding love, friends and happiness?

Ila Rose is wife to one very lucky man, mother to four of the most amazing small humans, and crazy to one and all. Ila has a large and boisterous family that shares in her insanity even as they add to it with inappropriate laughter, tasteless jokes and dance parties to old and forgotten one hit bands. She continues to defy aging although she has been known to take a sharpie to her grayish roots in moments of desperation. Ila lives in central Indiana and continues to insist that there really, truly isn’t a whole lot more than corn in Indiana. When she’s not busy alienating family while living like a hermit attached to the keyboard, she’s reading, watching Grey’s anatomy and Glee marathons and being silly with her kids. She loves to laugh often and usually at her own expense, music of almost any type and adores all things sarcastic or witty. Her debut contemporary romance novel, High Heels and Naked Lies is the first of the High Society Wives series and is probably going to be a New York Times best seller within a year. You should buy it before then. I hear it’s pretty good.

It’s been almost two weeks since I’ve had the best sex of my life. I thought fucking him would settle a craving, and I’d be good to go for a while. Instead, it awakened a sexual beast that I had living inside of me. It’s all I think about now.
I want it.
I need it.
I fantasize about Jace and his huge hands doing wonderful things to my body. I can still remember the way his tongue felt as he slid it into my pussy, and the warmth of his mouth as his lips encircled my clit. I was sore for days. My entire body ached from the pounding he gave me. I’ve used my fingers and my vibrator, and neither one will do. I crave his body like a pregnant woman craves pickles and ice cream.
How can I tell him that I want to use his body for my own pleasure? What would I even say to him? I’ve never had to chase after a guy. I haven’t asked anybody out on a date, haven’t initiated the first kiss, and certainly haven’t asked anybody if they want to be fuck buddies. I just can’t do that. Plus, I have no idea how to get a hold of him. I only know where he lives, and I definitely won’t be showing up to his suite like some sort of stalker psycho.
I groan and force myself to get out of bed. Before I make it to the bathroom, my phone vibrates on my nightstand. It’s Em.
“Wake up, we have plans,” she says excitedly.
“Ugh. No. I can’t deal with your happiness right now.”
“Too bad. Get up because we have places to be.”
“How come I never know about our plans until the last minute?”
“I don’t know. I’m on my way over. It’s already ten, so stop being a lazy bum.”
The phone clicks and I go use the bathroom, brush my teeth, and pull my hair into a messy bun on top of my head. I put on some shorts, flip flops and a white tank top. By the time I’m dressed, I hear Em banging on the door like she’s the cops.
“Hey! Why are you trying to break my door down?” I say as I pull the door open.
She gives me a shrug. “I thought maybe you had gone back to sleep, so I was prepared to wake you up.”
“Well, I proved you wrong. I’m ready and everything, see?” I say, extending my arms and showing her that I’m dressed.
She eyes me with a disgusted look on her face. “If that’s what you call ready. It doesn’t matter anyway. We’re going to go get pampered. Nails, hair, waxing.”
“Waxing?” I say, interrupting her. “I think I’ll pass. Last time you convinced me to get waxed, my hoo-ha was sore for days! No thank you.”
“Stop being so dramatic,” she laughs. “I’m sorry. Last time the chick was new. This time, it won’t be the same one. I promise. We need to go get prettied up, go out to dinner with these two, hopefully-not-lame bitches, and then hit a club up and find some sexy men to dance with. That’s the plan.”
She says the last part with finality, flips her hair over her shoulder and walks towards out door.
“I guess I could use a few drinks,” I say, following her down the hall.
“Still not over the king?” she asks with a laugh.
“Oh shush,” I say, playfully pushing her.
“Hell, from what you told me, I wouldn’t be over him either. I’d be scaling the building trying to get to him.”
A loud and embarrassing laugh escapes my throat. A few people nearby all turn and look in our direction. Ignoring the stares, I continue to laugh. “Oh my gosh, Em. You’re too much. I picture you climbing the building like Spiderman and shit. Oh God, that’s too funny,” I say, unable to stop my laughter.
“You think I’m playing. I’d be camped out on that balcony waiting to pounce him.” She lets out a small laugh at herself. “I think you’re crazy for not wanting to be with him again. You said yourself he was amazing in bed…and huge! It’s not like you’re getting any elsewhere.” She gives me a pointed look.
“Well, thanks for reminding me,” I say and roll my eyes. “I don’t know what you think I’m supposed to do. I don’t have his number, and showing up to his place would be desperate and sad. I won’t do that.”
Emilie lets out a dramatic sigh. “Whatever. Guess you’ll have to find you another man tonight. He probably won’t be God-like, or be as good in bed, or have a huge…”
“Okay!” I say, interrupting her sentence. “I get it. Let’s just go.”

Promo: Music of the Soul by Katie Ashley

Music Of The Soul BANNER

In Music of the Heart, an unexpected twist of fate caused Abby Renard to fall into womanizer Jake Slater’s bed. What started out as a small spark between the unlikely pair, grew into a deep and intense love. After a year-long engagement, the two have finally been able to set a wedding date. It’s off to Mexico for a destination ceremony on a private beach. After a heated week long honeymoon in a tropical paradise, the two return to the real world of touring and making music together.
As the newlyweds settle into married life, another twist of fate challenges their love. For once, Abby isn’t able to be the rock of strength that Jake needs. Can the two of them hold on to the strong foundation of love they have built, or will it crumble under the pressure?

Long after the last footsteps could be heard pattering down the hall or the sound of water in the pipes, I finally threw back the covers and hopped out of bed. I knew exactly what I wanted to wear, and it only took two seconds to pull it out of my suitcase. I then slipped into the bathroom and got dressed. As soon as I was done, I crept out of the bedroom and down the hall. I could hear my dad snoring in the guest bedroom, while the sound of muted TV came from the office where Eli and Gabe were sleeping on an air mattress and the pullout couch.

Grabbing a flashlight out of the hall closet, I then snuck out the front door. I jogged as fast as I could in my robe and slippers across the front lawn and down the hill. Thankfully, Angel had actually listened to me when I told her to stay on the porch. The last thing I needed was for her to start a barking marathon and alert everyone that I was running around half-naked outside. When I got to the barn, I reached under one of the potted plants to get out the hide-a-key. Gently, I unlocked the door and stepped inside.

When I closed the door behind me, I heard rustling in the bed upstairs. Without hesitation, I made my way across the living room toward the stairs. Of course, I didn’t expect Jake to have left his shoes in the middle of the floor, causing me to trip and bang into the ladder. “Ow!” I cried before I could bite down on my lip. “Abby?” Jake questioned. Within a few seconds, he was peering over the railing of the loft. Gazing up at him, I teased, “Yes, it’s me. Were you expecting someone else?” His brows furrowed. “I wasn’t expecting anyone, especially you.” “Well…surprise!” Jake gave me a funny look as I started climbing the stairs.

When I got to the top rung of the ladder, he helped me off. “What are you doing here?” To answer his question, I undid the tie on my robe. I then shimmied it off my shoulders and let it fall to the floor. Jake’s eyes widened while his mouth gaped open at my skimpy lingerie. “Abby…” “Do you remember this?” I asked, running my hand over the silky material. As the revelation washed over him, desire burned in his eyes.

“You were wearing that the night we made love for the first time.” “Yes, I was.” Stepping forward, I wrapped my arms around his neck. “I want you to finish what you started earlier this afternoon. But most of all, I want you to make love to me again on our wedding eve in the same place we first came together.” Jake’s gaze left mine to momentarily flicker over to the clock on the nightstand. “But it’s after midnight. That means it’s our wedding day.

What about the bad luck?” “We make our own luck. But more than anything, we make our own memories, and I want to make one with you tonight.” As his arms wrapped tighter around me, he cocked his head at me. “Trust me, Angel, I certainly don’t want to argue with you. I just don’t want you to regret it later.” “There hasn’t been a single moment I’ve regretted with you.” Jake’s brows rose in surprise. “Really?” “I promise.” He smiled. “I’m really glad to hear that.”
“So are you down with my plan?”
“Oh, hell yeah,” he said, as he backed us over to the bed.

This book is book one in a three part series, so not all matters are resolved at the end of the novel. It is also meant for ages 18+ due to yummy adult content ;)

Happily ever after doesn’t exist. Not just in the romantic sense, but in the sense that there will never be a point in life that will contain no more obstacles.

Josie Sommers is a nerdy twenty four year old, elementary school teacher who has always considered herself a strong person. But with the loss of a loved one and the return of someone she vowed to never see again, her strength starts to break.

When he betrayed her in the ultimate way, she never thought she would let him back into her life, let alone open herself up to falling back in love with him.
Plagued with resentment and the burden of her own dishonesty,

Josie has to decide if forgiving and coming clean is worth the risk of losing him again. With so many hurdles, we know that Josie’s story is no fairytale.

That’s a promise.

“You are gorgeous, as always, Josie.” He turned me around and brought his lips to mine. He kissed me slowly, and I could feel myself getting heated. He grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the bed. I was a little embarrassed when he started undressing us, unable to believe that I agreed to do something so risqué. He position me in a particular way, and went back to his cameras to make sure his shot was right and to set up timers on them.

“Okay, don’t think about the cameras,” he said, coming back to me. He started sucking on my neck as his hands roamed my thighs, stomach, and then my chest. I tried to ignore the cameras and focused on his tongue and mouth on me.

Click. He brought one of my breasts into his mouth and sucked on my hard nipple. His tongue always knew how to make my body feel good. Click. I moved my hands into his shaggy sandy blonde hair, and arched my back, needing more of him. Click. Seth aligned his chest with mine, and went back to assault my neck as I moved my hands to rub his shoulders and arms.  Click. His other hand that wasn’t fondling my breast, moved its way in between my legs, and rubbed me. I gasped at the feeling of increased pressure on my clit. Click. His fingers really were magical. It didn’t take me long before both the pressure of his mouth on my neck and breasts and the rubbing of his fingers against me, made me come. Click.

“So sexy,” he whispered, before putting on the condom he had ready on the bed.

His eyes were hooded with desire. He positioned himself in front of me and moved my long hair in a way that covered my breasts. Click. He eased inside of me gently, and then pulled back out fast. Click. He teased me like that for a while, as I whimpered with need. I decided to sit up and grab onto his back, nearly clawing him to finally give me what I needed. I started to raise my hips to his at a better rhythm, loving the small whimper that came out of his mouth. Click.

Author Bio:

Victoria Klahr (pronounced like “Claire”) lives in Elizabeth City, North Carolina with her husband and daughter, Stephen and Alexis. She loves her chug (Pug/Chihuahua), Bandit, and three year old to pieces. She loves to stay home and take care of them, even if they do drive her insane at times. She is a huge and proud book nerd who looks at her bookshelf in admiration daily. She has her Associate’s degree in Business Administration, but her passion has always been the stories that talk to her in her head. One day she decided to take a chance and let the voices write her story. She has never felt more certain or comfortable about who she is than when she writes
1)        Anything you can tell us about yourself that your readers may not know.
a.      Readers may be surprised to know that I am 22 years old. I feel a little bit young in an area where there are a lot of mature writers. I work even hard to make sure that my writing does not reflect my age. The great thing about people like me, who like to read, is that it doesn’t matter how old you are, because we can all relate on a common subject: a good book.
2)        How long have you been writing and who influenced you?
a.      I have “officially” been writing since May of 2013. I have been writing short stories and poetry since I was in the fourth grade, though. I remember giving my short story to a kid in my fifth grade class and feeling a major accomplishment when he said it was really good, and that I should be an author one day. There is also a twisted sense of pride when you get the guidance counselor sent to you in eighth grade, because your short story about a literal severed heart was too graphic for the teacher.
I would have to say that Taryn Fisher and KA Linde would be the influences for my first novel. The fact that they wrote angst-filled stories gave me the inspiration to write the way I do. I never wanted there to be a perfect happily ever after when I write, and they gave me the courage to write it the way I want to.
3)        What inspires you while you were writing?
a.      Dreams are a real inspiration. I take a lot of value in the thoughts before I fall asleep. A lot of times, I will have to pull out my phone and write down a phrase or idea that I want to use. That is when I get my best ideas: right before I fall asleep. I also need to listen to music while I write. The music drowns out the sounds of real life, so I can completely immerse myself in the world I am writing.
4)        Your favorite author or book
a.      My favorite book is Divergent by Veronica Roth. I am not happy with how the series ended, but Divergent is still my favorite. I have a few favorite authors. I love Wendy Higgins, Jennifer L Armentrout, Richelle Mead, Jessica Sorensen, Jessica Shirvington, JA Redmerski, and JK Rowling.
5)        Where is your favorite place to write?
a.      My favorite place to write is Panera Bread, for sure! I don’t know what it is, but I was so glad they opened one up in my small town right when I started writing. I get some bread and sit in a chair by the window for hours while I write.
6)        What makes you laugh/cry?
a.      I am very easy to make laugh and cry! I laugh at the stupidest jokes; it’s really not hard to make me laugh. I’m also empathic, so it’s very easy for me to get sad and cry. I could be watching a commercial and cry, if it’s sad.
7)        What’s the last movie you watched and loved?
a.      LOVED The Hunger Games: Catching Fire! It was incredible! I couldn’t believe how accurate it was to the book. I am still geeking out about it. It was like watching the print from my book, come to life on the big screen in the most perfect way. I loved it!
8)        One of your favorite quotes.
a.      Right now it’s the quote I use in the beginning of my book, That’s a Promise. “Because there’s nothing more beautiful than the way the ocean refuses to stop kissing the shoreline, no matter how many times it’s sent away.” –Sarah Kay
9)        The gadget you can’t live without
a.      Hmmm…. Kindle or laptop…. I need both!!!!
10)     Top three things on your bucket list
a.      I don’t have one, but if I did, I would want to
1) go to Barcelona, Spain
2) go skiing or snowboarding and
3) become a successful author
11)     I have never______________?
a.      Smoked pot… hehe.
12)     Is writing your full time occupation?
a.      I am a full time stay-at-home mom and wife, and part time college student. So writing is something I do when I have a free moment in between those duties. When I wrote That’s a Promise and really got into the heart of the story, I treated it like a real job and had to allot time to finish writing it.
13)     From the novels you have written who is you favorite character and why
a.      Well I have only written That’s a Promise so far, but my favorite character would have to be… Seth. I love Seth. I cannot get enough of him. There is something so mysterious and sexy about him. Anyone who is that good of a friend, deserves my love! It was the fact that he kept calling Josie, even when she didn’t talk on the phone, that made me love him. I also love Will, Josie’s late father. I felt terrible that I killed him in the first chapter, when I started developing his character throughout the book!
14)     Are any of your characters based on someone you know or are they all a product of the pen?
a.      Most of my characters are all products of my imagination (or pen). I let Josie tell me the story in my head, and I wrote it down. However there are some characteristics or traits that I notice in my real life. Brandon’s looks are similar to my little brother Brandon. Blake’s eyes are the same beautiful brown as my sister Hayley’s eyes. And there was a slight jab at my intolerant and VERY Christian father, when Josie told the story about Mr. and Ms. William Boom. My dad’s name is William and my step-mom’s maiden last name is Boom.
15)     Coffee/Tea
a.      Tea… I HATE coffee. I like hot tea, but don’t drink it too often.
16)     Android/iPhone
a.      iPhone baby!!!! I love my phone so much!
