I am a Master.

You must know this fact to understand my story.

I capture women.

I break them down.

And I rebuild them.

If they are lucky, they are sold into the professional hands of another Master. If they are less fortunate, they are buried beneath the ground, never to be thought of again.

I lust for the control, I demand absolute submission and my body yearns to warp the minds of those I train.

Power is the only thing I’ll ever need and I am addicted to the feeling of ultimate control.

I am wealthy, good-looking, educated and charming.

And I am - in no way - a good man.

I do not want love.
I do not want kindness.

She thought she could change me by giving me the two things I knew I never wanted.

She was wrong.

Tension and family holidays go together like eggnog and candy canes.

When lawyer Anna brings her boyfriend Jason home for the holidays, it’s a recipe for family drama. Her parents have high expectations for her fast-track future. And those don’t include her hooking up with a kennel worker suffering the results of traumatic brain injury.

With a lousy memory and a shaky past, Jason knows he’s no prize. But what he and Anna have together is priceless. An impulsive proposal on the way to her family’s house seems the best way to prove his feelings for her are forever. Anna’s hesitation to accept stops his heart. And when she seems willing to use him to get back at her manipulative mom, Jason wonders if he’s made the mistake of his life.

Exposed to the light of critical eyes, Jason and Anna’s fairy-tale romance threatens to crumble. The hurdles of their pasts may prove too much for this princess and her pauper. And this new year may ring in bright beginnings – or the end of all their hopes and dreams.

New Year: A New Life Story (New Life #2) 4 STAR Review

I swear I don’t know why it took me so long to get to this book, I’ve had this sitting on my kindle since December and just got around to reading it.
I receive numerous arcs to read/review and I wish I would have pushed this up so I could have read it for the holiday.

This short story follows “New Life” where Anna and Jason met. Anna is a lawyer, expected in her family as both parents are successful lawyers.
Jason was a maintenance man in the building Anna worked.
The two met, fell hard for each other and are growing as a couple. Jason has a brain injury a result of a car accident when he was in college so normal everyday tasks take him longer to accomplish as his memory is scattered.

This novella has Anna and Jason preparing for a trip to her parents photo stock-footage-camera-tracks-across-table-as-extended-family-sit-and-enjoy-thanksgiving-dinner-shot-on-canon-d.jpg
for the Christmas holiday. An unexpected proposal takes Anna by surprise leaving her with the decision, is Jason enough for her. snow kiss photo snowkiss.jpg

Anna unsure of what to expect since her mother doesn’t approve of Jason and Jason hoping he can get through the trip without having a meltdown.

I absolutely love Bonnie Dee’s novels. She completes a character and doesn’t sugar coat them to make them sexy or irresistible.
She lets the characters personality speak for themselves and that is appealing.
She creates characters that are overlooked and shunned by society and makes you fall in love with them.
Anna and Jason are perfect together; they balance and satisfy one another in and out of the bedroom. Jason may have a limp when he walks but one thing for sure his dick is never limp when Anna is around! photo tumblr_mnc1ieOGX81qa1ujlo1_250.gif

Told in both POV’s which I like, you get real insight on how each one feels and how Jason’s inner monologue gets him through a day.
Even with his physical and mental disability he is a strong male who I came to appreciate and love. kiss jason and anna photo 06ef2e33-c55e-43f2-b91b-9dbb72fbb78a.jpg

A wonderful story of coming to terms with who they are, what they want and having the courage to pursue it.
I hope there will be more novellas about Anna and Jason. I’d like to see what the future holds for them.

Maybe a June wedding, hint..hint.

Since the car accident that caused traumatic brain injury, Jason has fought to regain his memories and the ability to organize thoughts and control emotions. His promising future shattered, he works as a night janitor in an office building and clings to routine to make it through his days.

New lawyer Anna breaks down one evening after fumbling her first court case. Self-doubt brings her to tears in a deserted stairwell where Jason finds her and offers comforting words. From this unexpected meeting an unlikely romance begins.

A casual coffee date soon leads to a deeper connection and eventually a steamy affair. But are Jason and Anna’s growing feelings for each other strong enough to overcome the social chasm that divides them and the very real issues of Jason’s disability

Righteous (Cordelia Kelly #2)
Sometimes a choice can bring you to your knees...

I'm actively writing Righteous (Cordelia Kelly #2),
and I suspect the story will be around the same length as Duality, perhaps a bit longer.

There are a host of new characters you'll meet, twists you'll take,
and turns you'll balk at. I hope you'll trust me and ride this journey to the end.
Release Date:TBD
Add to shelf:

My name is Cordelia Kelly and I'm an empath. I know what you're thinking. In fact, I know what you're feeling, too. I could use your emotions against you or free you from their constraints. My choice, really, and depends on my mood.

You see, I filter both light and dark emotions from humans, but which I chose depends on which side of me is in charge. I'm not normal. I am the line walker and restorer of balance. A Royal. Think black sheep with red hair - not the blonde bombshell princess. I'm an aberration and unique. Not fully light, nor fully dark.

Not accepted by anyone, but wanted by everyone. Mostly for their own amusements or nefarious purposes. Except for Sol Winterborn. He sees the real me. When fate throws us together to unravel the mystery of my grandmothers death, we have to choose our destiny. Walk together... or continue alone? The problem is I've been found by those who want me dead, and Sol has deep secrets of his own. My only choice now is to fight... or die.
The road is dark, yet I follow the light.

Every person has emotional wounds, internal scars, and at one time or another, witnessed an event they wished they'd never saw.

These things change us irrevocably

For Cordelia Kelly, growing up at the mercy of her Dark Empathic father caused her to tear in two when she was sixteen. As she tried to save her mother from his brutal attacks, she unknowingly unleashed her inner duality and now struggles under the weight of who she truly is, and what she's capable of.

This is the beginning.

Torn in Two is a 24 page short story delving into the teenage mind of Cordelia Kelly.
The story can stand alone, but is better read after Duality.

About the author
ER Pierce

I've been writing for as long as I can remember. I wrote my first story when I was in seventh grade--A first person account of an entire summer. I went through a massive teen angst poetry phase, and I have notebooks and binders filled with prose.
Over a year ago, Ceithin and Aurelia showed up in my head. They yapped incessantly, demanding I sit and tell their story. After a month or two of being woken up with harsh whispers, I started writing. They haven't stopped, and in fact, brought friends.
Now my head is filled with stories, scenes, snippets and crazy people. Cue Law and Order music here: dun, dun. These are their stories. I write with emotion, occasionally a temper and I let my words flow free.
I dabble in paranormal, contemporary romance, erotic fiction and darker urban fantasy.
Oh, and hey... I'm a Virgo.

For the past 21 years, I have been a planner and an organizer.  I always needed things a specific way and then everything changed for me.  I've always had a vivid imagination and thoughts racing through my mind.  I realized that life is way too short to let things pass me by, because in the blink of an eye everything could change.  So I decided to just live in the moment, taking every chance and opportunity led my way.  No second thoughts and just going with the flow.

I decided to put the fictional characters and the conversations going on in my head to paper.  I know, it makes me sound crazy, but I wouldn't have it any other way.  I've embraced crazy and hectic and last minute because it's led me to making my dreams a reality.

When I'm not writing Happily Ever After's I'm reading about them and living one.  I think this world is filled with too much sadness already we don't need to read about it as well.  I write because I love it and I've allowed my imagination to run wild and be crazy and free.  Just like me.

As each secret surfaces, he realizes that the only way to restore his family is to take his place at its head, and fully embrace the brutal way they live.

Woodlawn Cemetery, New York City. October 16, 2011

Rain pounds on the tops of two huge black umbrellas, one slightly higher than the other. Two brothers stand as the remnants of a long and winding funeral party that has already departed to seek shelter at a reception organized for the mourners. The brothers have been silent since well before the line of tossed roses ended. Their uncle had stood beside them for some time, wearing heartbreak on his face, watching the men in parkas doing their ghastly work. Even he had turned away when the casket began to lower.

The world around them is a dreary, soggy weight, but the faces beneath the umbrellas are dry. The taller takes a long pull on a cigarette, hand moving mechanically. Mirrored shades set the scenery at an acceptable visibility, dimming the details. The pole of his umbrella rests against his other shoulder. His knuckles are white against the handle. The shorter, darker brother holds his umbrella in his right hand, abandoned in front of him as if it were some sort of lifeline. His suit jacket rests on his shoulders, covering the sling that will confine his left arm for some time. His deep brown eyes are heavy, with dark pools beneath them. The roots of his teeth are numb. Their shoulders are touching. They ignore the cautious glances from the men who start the machinery that will cover their dead father with the earth from whence he came. Ashes to ashes, or something like that.

The Marzetti clan has been mercilessly slaughtered, wiped from the city's books in a series of well-disguised and strategic hits. Anyone with a direct tie to that family's fronts is as good as dead. Retribution seems little more than routine on a day like this.

“He didn't talk to me,” says Caleb, the taller, older brother who has no regard for the serenity of silence he destroys. The younger, Seth, looks questioningly to him, searching Caleb's blank mask for some explanation. He can't tell where his brother is looking and, for some reason, it makes him angry. “He didn't have any last words of wisdom for me,” Caleb says, face front, voice carefully neutral. He introspectively hits his cigarette.

Seth gasps, unable to hide his raw emotions from his family after upholding his charade of 'dealing with it' all day. He had presumed, after the way they had woken him from dead sleep the night his dad died, and rushed him upstairs to speak to his father alone, that Caleb had already had his time with their dad. What Seth's brother is telling him now is that the scene didn't play out that way. His dad's last words play so differently with that change in perspective.

Caleb watches the mud dripping from the mouth of the backhoe as it struggles against the waterlogged ground. He imagines the grave filling with rain before they can cover it, and all Gabe’s transgressions and guilt float to the surface. How many skeletons would that flood unearth? Mud to mud, that is all it comes down to in the end. “He didn't talk to Mikie, either,” he continues, battling against an irrational aggravation at his brother's innocence and surprise.

Seth looks away, eyes unwittingly falling on the same sullied scene as Caleb's. What a fittingly messy tribute to a gruesomely mucked up circumstance. Slowly, deliberately, he answers, “He said that if you find yourself cold inside, you're not fit to be a king.”

Seth can sense the tension take hold of Caleb. He can feel muscles pull and tighten beside him, though Caleb never moves. Seth recognizes the storm that takes his brother, he has seen it a thousand times. Caleb has always been chillingly good at hiding his feelings, but Seth knows them all as well as his own. Caleb is partly jealous, partly crushed that a birthright that should fall to the eldest son has instead gone to the younger. Seth looks back to the other, knowing without a doubt that Caleb can feel the attention. The cigarette burns unheeded. “Family is most important—”

“Don't mock me!” Caleb cries. What is left of his cigarette snaps in his fingers. Ash scatters into the rain as he flings the pieces at the ground.

Seth sighs. Maybe it is too soon to talk about it. Caleb only ever works at his own pace, and he hardly lets anyone in on his progress. Seth looks to his mud-covered shoes. “I love you, Caleb,” he says, voice barely audible over the hum of the heavy equipment.

He sees Caleb in his periphery, watches him jerk his shades off to rub at his eyes with the back of hand. He hears him sigh, too. “I love you too, Seth,” he whispers, and fixes the sunglasses firmly back in place. Only then does he allow himself to glance at his sibling, who looks so much like his dad.

    Bio :
Palessa started reading her first romance novel, at the age of 11. Then she got introduced to V.C. Andrews, Barbara Taylor Bradford, Anne Rice and many more notable contemporary authors as well as some of the classics, A Tale of Two Cities, Their Eyes Were Watching God, The Great Gatsby and others. It was during her teenage years that she dabbled in writing.
First, it was in her diaries, then she started creating characters, stories about romance, the supernatural and much more. Being an International Baccalaureate student as well as entering college, left little time for writing and so she put it and the ideas aside to pursue a career. It would take almost 20 years, a radical move from the city she grew up in, Miami, FL back to her Caribbean birthplace, and a chance Facebook meeting with Sable Hunter to start the juices flowing again. After some fits and starts, the Baxter Family Saga was born.
Unchained Hearts is Palessa's first published fiction book with Beau Coup Publishing. She considers herself just a storyteller that sees no reason to shy away from the juicier romantic elements. She currently lives in the mountains of Jamaica with her crazy, cracker-munching-mutt Ivy and a farm, primarily managed by agribusiness partner, also known as Dad.
