Lying here with him holding me felt so right that I never wanted him to let go. I wanted so much more than just sex from him, but he was so reluctant to give it to me. However, I didn’t think his willpower would last very long. I was making it my mission to make him mine. If I had to get a little dirty to do it, then so

be it.He was staring at me with those chocolate eyes, and I was emotionally spent right now as it was. When he called me earlier tonight, I was beside myself. I thought that we had been done with Chris and all of his bullshit. That asshole was like a bad rash. He just kept coming back until you wanted to rip off your skin just to get rid of him. “How is Mads?”

“Carter told me that he would call me if he found out anything, so I’m assuming that she is still in surgery.”

“I can’t believe that this is all happening.” One minute I was driving home from the store, and the next Jason called to tell me my best friend’s life was in danger. I shivered at the thought of what Mads must have gone through tonight. All I could do now was pray to God that she was okay.

Jason’s hold on me tightened. “Hey, I’m sure she will be okay. Maddy is a fighter, and there is no way that she is going to give up now.”

“I know that. I’m just scared that this will be the

thing that finally breaks her, J. I mean, she is so strong for even dealing with half of the shit that she did, but I’m scared what version of her will be around after the dust has cleared. Do you know anything about Chris?”

I saw his face harden and his eyes went cold. “When I was talking to the paramedics, I heard someone yell that they found the driver. I told them his name and that he was the person to blame for everything. With any luck, he won’t make it through the night.” My whole body shook at the thought that he might be okay and we might lose Madison. He tightened his arms around me, making me feel like everything might actually be okay.

I wished he was like this all the time. He put on such a front for people, that sometimes I felt like he forgot to drop the act. I’d always been able to see right through it and called him on his bullshit. I looked back up at him and he was still staring at me. I did the only thing that felt right at the moment and leaned up to kiss

him.At first, he stilled and I began to regret my decision. Then, he kissed me back and the sweet little peck I had started caught fire.

Everyone felt sorry for Carrie Lawson. She was a sweet woman who had nothing but a deadbeat husband and a dream of a writing career. Happiness was something she had to fight for but when she met Logan Franks, a local firefighter, her love life became a whole lot warmer until her very existence was almost snuffed out by a person she thought she’d never see again.
Logan Franks is hot, and not just in looks. Being a volunteer firefighter doesn’t just mean being on a calendar or turning girls on…it’s dangerous work. Sometimes you have to go in and save everyone, sometimes even your worst enemy. But Logan is above all that, he will save everyone he can.
He and Carrie will fight for a life together, no matter what, even if the chances are high it will all blow up in their faces.

“Let me introduce you to Flash...as in Flash Gordon, you know, the super hero.” She crinkled her nose and couldn’t control her burst of laughter. She hadn’t laughed that hard in ages...it felt good. After regaining some composure, she had to ask, “No way, really, that’s his name? You could be more original, you know?”
Her reaction amused the good-natured man and he couldn’t help but chuckle. “Your name is? Just so you and my friend here are properly introduced.”
Carrie put her hand to her mouth trying to suppress more giggles, “Oh! I’m sorry, Flash. My name is Carrie Lawson.”

His eyes sparkled with delight when he replied, “Well now, don’t be sorry, it’s a lovely name.” Carrie caught his bad joke and showed him the most amazing smile he’d ever seen. Her eyes and smile lit up the dreary room, making his entire week a whole lot happier.
“Carrie Lawson, meet Flash, the Basset hound.
This is as active as he gets. If you ask him politely, he might give you his paw. However, don’t ask him to do anything else, because that’s as much as you’ll get in one day. He exhausts easily.”
Carrie knelt down in front of the pooch and held out her hand revealing a cheap wedding band that cut straight to Logan’s heart. Damn, somebody got to her first. Logan shut his eyes briefly. Why did he automatically assume she was single and why were all the beautiful ones taken?

“Hello, Flash, it’s an honor to meet you. May I please have your paw? “Amazingly, the old canine sat down rather graciously and held up his paw for her. Delighted by the feat, Carrie smiled, “Wow that’s a good dog. You were right he’s great and very smart.”
She ruffled his big old ears, appreciating the trick and making the hound more than happy to roll over for her to pet his substantial belly.

Logan was too surprised to do anything but nod, “I was so...kidding. He’s never done that before! I’ve begged him for years. What gives, Flash? You have an eye for the pretty girls, don’t you? You’re a miracle worker, Carrie.”
Stepping away from the table, he held out his hand, “Oh, now I’m sorry. My name is Logan Franks. It’s a genuine pleasure to meet you, Carrie.”
“Oh, don’t be sorry. That’s a lovely name too.” She kidded back with Logan as she stood to take his hand, almost slamming right into her mother as the woman raced over with the food and an attitude.
Carrie knew it was trouble when Sandy dropped the bag into Carrie’s hand and grabbed Logan’s extended hand, putting it to her own evil heart.

Good Lord, Carrie thought, as she blushed. She stood frozen, watching Logan try in vain to retrieve his hand. Having no luck, Logan realized that her mom was stronger than she looked.
Carrie’s face reddened and she felt her blood pressure rise. This was a ridiculous exhibition. Her mom was performing for him and it had to stop. Filling fast with all sorts of humiliation for the second time that day, Carried didn’t control herself any longer. “Mom, stop! What are you doing to this poor man?” There...she’d done it.

For the first time in her life, she yelled at her own mother. It was almost cathartic. However, it was short lived as the old Carrie came racing back, making her wanting to hide in the broom closet because she knew the woman wouldn’t take this easily.

excerpt
Unable to face the look he was sure would be on their faces, Blue stumbled blindly from the room and headed in search of somewhere less confusing.
“Blue!” Noelle had followed him out, but he ignored her. “Blue! Stop!”
“I need to be alone.” Shame made him sharp, but he should have known better than to think that would stop her.
“No, you don’t.” A tiny hand slipped into his, entwining their fingers. “You need to be reminded who you are in the here and now. You need to talk about it. You need to trust me.”
“I…” He didn’t even know who this version of himself was. He stopped in the hallway, uncertain where to go. Nowhere felt like it would be the sanctuary he needed more than anything else.
“Chloe, can you give us an hour and then bring breakfast for two to my room, please.” Noelle took over, seeming to know what he needed better than he did. The sub standing behind the reception desk nodded once, flashing a concerned glance at Blue. He couldn’t believe he was letting anyone see him like this. “Come on.” He followed her up the stairs, meek and trusting. She seemed so certain and he felt so numb, like his brain was full of cotton wool.
They entered her room and she pushed the door shut behind them, hitting the lights and drawing the curtains. Her hands went to the buttons of her blouse and he swallowed. “What are you doing?”
“Giving you something to lose yourself in until you’re able to deal with this.” She shrugged, dragging the blouse from her shoulders and letting it pool on the floor.
“You said you weren’t ready.” He replied automatically and she nodded.
“I did. But you need this.”
“How did you know?” He reached for his own buttons, only then realising that his hands were trembling.
“Know what?” She was shimmying out of her jeans, kicking her shoes across the floor.
“That you’re the only place I feel safe.”
She blushed, the warmth radiating over her creamy skin. “Because you taught me that.” She took over removing his clothes. “Home isn’t always a building. Sometimes it’s a person or people. Sometimes there’s more sanctuary in someone familiar than there is in a house you grew up in. Let me be that for you, Blue.”

Synopsis
Fast. That’s how I like life, especially my two great joys: bikes and women. I’m committed to exclusively riding one, but not the other. Until April. A sexy-arse freelance photographer who’s travelled the world, and doesn’t do long walks on the beach or romantic candlelit dinners. She enjoys running with the bulls and food spicy enough to make your hair fall out. If that weren’t enough to get me hard, she rides a mean mother of a motorcycle. I’ve gotta have a taste of this wildcat.
~Spencer (Jones)

I don’t do fast. Not anymore. I’ve got my career, my independence, and since I fled Spain to come back home I promised myself that I wouldn’t be put second—or third, for that matter—again. Then I meet pretty boy Spencer. He’s smooth, oozing the most potent pheromones probably known to modern science, and he’s making a move on me. One kiss was almost enough for my promise to dissolve. My head says no—my treacherous body screams yes. I’m gonna make Spencer work for it. Make him fight for the chance to have me, because I know that deep down I’m worth it.

~April MacIntyre

Prologue
SPENCER (JONES)

My head pounds, alerting me to the fact that I’m alive. Barely. I run my hand over my bare chest to find a set of fingers clad with rings. The hand tightens, sharp nails scratching my skin as they sweep over my ribs. I shudder with the realisation that she’s still here. That was not part of the plan. Her hand continues over to my hipbone, and curls around my side. I turn to see her face buried in the pillow beside me, a cascade of fiery red curls tangled down her back, a strong contrast to her pale skin. I strain to lift my head off the pillow, and there he is. Ryan.

On the far edge of my king-sized bed, face down, bare arse and all. I’m here again. My life on repeat. My liver screams out its hate for me, and my body aches in silent protest. And why the fuck is my arse sore? I wriggle to release myself from her hold. I don’t like them to stay, but Ryan and I were obviously too fucked-up to care. I must’ve passed out, because normally I deal with their exit. I don’t do mornings. I don’t do awkward. I like simple hook-ups, and then “see ya”; No expectations, no complications. This here looks complicated. Walking naked across my bedroom, the floor littered with condom wrappers and clothes, I pick up a rogue black leather shoe and throw it at Ryan’s arse. He chokes on his snore, and stirs. “Hey, what the fuck, man?” He rolls over, thankfully tugging the tangled sheets with him to shield his dick. I don’t need a vision of his giant cock in the back of my head today. “What’s up is that you and Princess Redhead need to leave, buddy.
I gotta get to work,” I whisper loudly.

Working for Dad today is totally gonna blow. Ryan swings his legs off the bed, and stretches his arms over his head. “Well, you never fail to disappoint, man. Guess I’ll catch ya next time I’m in town.” I take a white crumpled towel that I must have left on the floor yesterday and wrap it around my hips. “That depends, mate. If you’re the reason my arse is sore, then this was the last time. Oh, and you might just get the shit kicked out of you.” He chuckles quietly to himself. “You don’t remember?” He grabs his jeans from the floor in front of him, and slips them on.
“Remember what?” Oh no. Ryan did not go there.

I’ll kill him. On instinct, my teeth grind against each other, and I breathe out heavily through my nose as I stalk towards him. He holds up a hand. “Relax,” he says, as he juts his chin towards the redhead. “Miss Ginger Sex Fiend over there brought toys.” “Fuck,” I gasp. I’ve seriously gotta lay off the drink. “Now, get outta here. I’ll take care of Ginger.”
Ryan winks, and runs his hands through his mussed up sandy-coloured hair.
Yeah. I need to get to work.

Excerpt

Craig has me backed against the wall, his hands either side of my head and his face is within inches of mine. I can feel his hot breath spurt on my face and his eyes are burning with anger. He look like he wants to punch everything in sight. Okay, so maybe I went a bit too far, but fuck him. I wanted a reaction from him and I sure as hell got one. I plaster myself to the wall. I know he would never touch me in a million years, but something primal is in front of me and between being scared of Craig, I am getting turned on by this too. We have yet to have angry make-up sex and right now, as much as I want my bath, sex would not go amiss. “Are you trying to fuck me up, Nic?

Trying to turn me into a jealous fucker because I damn well am right now.” He spits out. His eyes are all over my face, from my lips to my eyes to my lips again. “I nearly punched the shit out of your little work buddy earlier. You fucking LEFT ME in bed this morning after our fight last night and then I see you all fucking happy as Larry with dickwad. Do you know how that made me feel? I shake my head and go to push him off me, but that only spurs him on and his body becomes flush with mine. I have to bite back a groan at the contact.

He wraps his hands in my hair and brings my face even closer to his. I can literally taste the beer on his lips and all I want to do is taste it on his tongue. But I need to stand my ground and not let him get one over on me. “Well maybe you should stop trying to dig into the past, Craig, leave it the fuck alone. I've already told you I feel fucking bad for this morning but you're a big boy, you should have learned how to set an alarm by now.” I bite back, “And I didn't bring Jamie along to make you jealous, you wanker, I brought him along to meet you all. But no, you turned it into a pissing contest. I am no ones okay? I am not yours so calm your fucking jealousy.”

He takes a deep breath and closes his eyes. He unravels one hand from my hair and punches the wall next to me. I jump at the thud his fist makes and he falls forward, his face resting on my shoulder. I stand still, wondering what he is doing and I feel him wrap both hands around my waist. My hands are still idle at my waist, not wanting to touch him. “Nic, you are mine. No matter what the hell happens. You. Are. Mine.”

He murmurs into my ear and plants a kiss on my neck. “Yeah, yours for 8ish more months.” I say and feel him shake his head and tighten his grip on me. “No.” is all I hear from him. His words are confusing me and unless he cannot count how long we have left, he's going insane. “Yes.” “No.” and with that he lifts himself back up and slams his lips onto mine. I falter back into the wall and Craig moves with me. His lips are hard and rough against my own and I try to keep up his pace. I wrap my arms around his neck, wanting to be closer to him, needing him closer.

Our tongues are battling against each other, I can taste the beer and a moan escapes from the back of my throat. I feel Craig's hands move down towards my arse and one hand grabs a cheek while the other grips my thigh and he hoists me up so my legs are wrapped around his waist. He pushes up further into the wall, so he can hold me in place and I can mould myself to his body; all the while our lips never parting.

His kisses are like my next breath. I crave them all day and when I do get them upon mine, its like everything is put into place, I can breathe and let out everything I have been holding in all day. Craig moans into my mouth when I take over dominance and bite his lip, sucking it between my teeth before running my tongue to sooth it. My hands pull at his hair, his hands are gripping my arse and I am writhing against him.

I can feel him pulsating through his jeans and I can feel the hardness of his dick pushing into my own jeans and each time I move it causes friction for both of us and guttural groans escape us both. Craig rips his mouth from mine and begins to attack my neck. He bites, sucks, licks and all I can do is roll my head to the side to grant him more access while I purr with need and want for this man in front of me. “Craig, I need you to fuck me.” I whisper while he's biting my pressure point. I swallow hard and suddenly we are on the move towards the bedroom.

His lips don't leave my neck until he throws me down on the bed and right there, that very second I can see just how jealous and angry and pissed off my husband is, but I can also see the passion and the need and want for me, and fucking too right, I am going to be another statistic to prove just how fucking awesome angry make-up sex is.

When the case he has been working on for months takes a turn, Ash could become the leverage the bad guys have been waiting for, but keeping her invisible may destroy everything Lucas has worked so hard for. Good thing Ash is the only person he would give up everything to protect.

Synopsis:

Conall Brannock takes his job seriously. He doesn't get attached, he doesn't ask questions, and he protects his family at all costs. Nothing will change that. Not even the sweet, green eyed witness that just burst into his life and shifted his world. He has one job to do; protect Emily until she can testify. He can't let his interest in her get in the way, but the more he finds out about her, the more he can't help but wonder how the beautiful broken girl got into this mess in the first place. And the longer he takes to learn the truth, the deeper he falls for her.

Emily Dawson has a job to do. Stay off the grid, testify, and hopefully get her brother back. He's all she has left of the family she struggled so hard to hold together and she would do anything to keep him safe. Even if it means she has put herself in harm's way or that she has conned everyone into believing she saw something she didn't. She knows where her loyalties lie, but her stoic yet gentle protector and his crazy family makes her question everything she once knew.

Loyalty can be one sided.
Family isn't always blood.
And honesty can destroy everything she has come to love.

About The Author:

Jessica Wilde
I live in Morgan Utah with my husband, daughter, and dog, Kolo. I write as often as my active daughter will let me and my husband has the patience of a saint. I find inspiration from dreams, people I meet, and life experiences. When I write, I usually end up drinking one too many cans of Peace Tea, eating three too many Fruit by the Foot fruit snacks, and accidently kicking my pup and best buddy, Kolo, too many times since he loves to sleep under my desk at my feet.
I started writing as a teen, but my fear of the unknown won out every time and I threw everything out. After becoming a mother and deciding to stay at home to raise my beautiful little girl, I tried again when I couldn't stop thinking of ideas. I loved every minute, every hour of sleep lost, and every character that came to life in my mind.
It's strange, but my favorite moments are when I have writer's block because I can turn to my husband and find inspiration through him by just doing what we do best together. Talking, laughing, and just being in love. He doesn't like to read, but he never stops encouraging me to keep going.
Writing has become an important part of my life and every book has a special place in my heart.

About the author

Lisa Helen Gray (1987) born in Birmingham. All Lisa has ever wanted to do in life, apart from be a mother, is to read and write, and at a certain age she wanted to be a princess.
We can all dream, right?
Serious note though, she has been a passionate reader ever since her Nan first handed her The Three Gollywogs by Enid Blyton. After that, she lived in a land of fantasy.
First came Buffy the Vampire Slayer, then Angel, and it went on to Twilight and The Hunger Games. Some would say she is a daydreamer, but she is just a firm believer that there is a happily ever after. Hence, her huge love of romance novels.
She got into reviewing other author’s novels, and then decided to publish her own work. Bringing us to her first novel, If I could I'd wish it all away (2014).

She always has her head stuck in a romance novel and is often (too often) reminded of this. When she hasn't got her head stuck in a book or writing her next novel, she is glued to the TV series Pretty Little Liars, walking dead, The Originals, The Vampire Diaries and of course, Veronica Mars.

Just an ordinary girl surround by extraordinary books
