Stupid Hearts by Kristen Hope Mazzola Cover Reveal

I should have freaking known.

How dense can one girl be?

If it’s too good to be true, then it is.

If he’s too nice, smiles too perfectly, says all the right things, then he probably isn’t prince charming. Nope. Of course he’d be freaking married.
And I didn’t see it.

So here I am, in a city that I hate doing a shoot I don’t want to do.

Suck it up, Jolene.

That’s what I have to keep telling myself.

It’s time to swear of smooth talking men and just focus on the only true loves in my life: photography and Dozer, my dog.

We walked through the marble infested lobby, got in the elevator and attacked.
Seth pressed me up against the mirrored wall, pulling my leg onto his hip.

He lightly bit from my collar bone to my chin while I slowly rubbed his growing erection. He growled into my neck making my clit pulse with need.
“God, it’s been too long.” I huffed into his ear as he reached up my tank top and under my bra, tugging on my nipples just the way I loved it.
The elevator slowed, forcing us to pull away from each other, but just until we were behind the closed door of his suite.
I went right to the bed, slipped off my boots and stripped down to my bra and panties.
Seth groaned as he watched me slowly undress from the other side of the bed where he was standing already in his birthday suit stroking his erect member slowly.

“Put your boots back on. Never leave them off, Jolene. Never.”

Title: Z-Radio Book 1

Series: A Zombie Apocalypse Novelette Series

Genre: Horror

Release Date: 1-17-15

Publishing House: Kingsnake Publishing

My life will never be the same again! My entire existence changed when the Zombie Apocalypse started. I was bitten and thought my life was going to end at the radio station. My name is Cherise, and there are people out there that want me dead!

Greg punched it and I was thrown to the ground when I lost my grip on the tailgate. A few zombies took advantage of this situation, and while I fought with all my might, they were overwhelming me quicker than I could fight. Inside my head, I felt my time on earth was through. Darren cried for Greg to stop as he fired a shot at one about to take a hunk out of my arm. I was on my feet and hurrying after the truck when one came out of nowhere and bit down on my leg. I screamed in pain and was pulled into the truck by Darren.

His eyes revealed what needed to be done, and I did not try to talk him out of keeping his distance. The vehicle took off over the grass as fast as Greg could go. We slid to one side then to the other, and all the while my body began to feel different. I knew what was taking place and could do nothing to stop it. I felt everyone’s eyes upon me as stinging tingles coursed throughout my body. It felt like an unstoppable freight train was about to reach its destination.

This was it and I knew it. *** I was propped up against the off-white wall of the radio station, where I felt death would take me. I knew I was going to die, and soon. There was nothing more that could be done for me. My will to live was strong, but it was fading fast. Five strangers stood over me, mulling over when I would need a bullet to the brain.

The bite wound on my leg caused my body to convulse, severely. The male that was in the tree with us had already been put out of his misery. I rolled my eyes and stared at his sheet-covered body. A blanket had been laid over him after the gunshot split his cranium in two. Soon, it would be my turn. I watched as his deceased body was dragged down the dirty, alabaster tile to the rear of the radio station. That was a sight I’d never forget; the vision was burned into my brain.

It was what happened to those that turned. I now knew that a simple bite could transform a human into a flesh eater. “Will I die, Darren?” I questioned the man sitting across from me holding the shotgun. His hand was on the trigger and his eyes were staring past me. “I don’t know, Cherise. From where I’m standing, I’d say yes. I am praying for you, girl.” He shook his head as I slid to the cold floor, where I felt its icy chill upon my cheek. It felt nice to feel something, anything.

I could also feel what was taking place inside my body. It felt horrible and I could not push the stop button even though I wanted to.

Saving Grace by Scarlett Jade Spotlight

Saving Grace (Wild Rose Book 1) by Scarlett Jade

The rule was simple—don't fall in love with a student. Drake had never had that problem—not until he met the buxom brunette in the bar. Grace was one of a kind, virginal but far from chaste. When she wanted him to teach more than history, he was left with a choice that could ruin them both.
Grace was always the good girl, until she met her wild best friend, Christina, who pushed her out of her shell. She fell head over heels for the sexy, young college professor, but when everything shattered around her, she was left with figuring out who she really was. Her journey led her somewhere she never imagined, but along the way she learned that even the wildest roses have to put down roots in a place they can call home.

“I'm Grace.”
“Has anyone told you that you're seriously adorable?” Christina grinned as she returned to her bags and began pulling clothes out.
Grace shook her head and kicked the door closed absentmindedly. “Do you need glasses?” she quipped.
Christina smirked and hung a shiny, strapless piece of fabric up on a hanger. “No. 20/20 vision here, sweetie.” She hung the hanger up in the closet and turned with a smile on her face. “Let me guess where you come from.”

Grace plopped down on her twin sized bed and hefted her bag up beside her. “Where I come from?” She parroted back.
Christina nodded, a thin finger tapping her full lips. “You're a nun.”
Grace giggled. “No.”
“Witness protection?” Christina asked. “Definitely no.” Grace giggled at the thought. “Well, I'm stumped,” Christina finally admitted.

“You're definitely uncomfortable with me.”
Grace gulped, a little embarrassed to be called out by a girl she barely knew. “Yeah, a little, maybe.” “Why?” Christina asked, her face kind and curious.

Grace swallowed. “I'm just not used like you.”

Christina grinned again and giggled, her braless breasts jiggling in her top. “Honey, no one is used to 'people like me',” she retorted, using air quotes to accentuate her words.

Grace blushed again and glanced down at her bag. “I assumed I'd be put with someone like me,” she finally whispered.
Christina paused in putting another tiny scrap of fabric on a hanger. “Someone like you?”
“Yeah.” She sighed. “I wanted someone safe. So I could study.”
Christina tossed the hanger and shiny fabric on her bed and propped her hands on her hips. “Look here, I might be flamboyant, but I busted my ass to get into Yale, just like you did. You can be smart and still have fun, Grace,” she sniffed.
Grace spluttered, “I-um didn't mean that! I just. I don't know. I'm sorry,” she finished lamely.
“College is about getting new experiences, Grace. Opening your wings and learning to fly. You're gonna meet strange eggs like me all through your life. You may as well get used to it now,” Christina stated.
Grace nodded. “I meant no offense.”
Christina shrugged. “I know you didn't. I still think you’re a nun.”
Grace finally smiled sheepishly. “No, just a preacher's daughter.”

“Oh!” Christina laughed. “That explains it. You think I'm a heathen.”
“No!” Grace shook her head vehemently. “I'm jealous of you,” she admitted. “I wish I could be you. Instead I'm me.” She swept her hand down her full figure and sighed.

“Honey, you're just an hourglass with a few extra minutes. It's more time for a man to love those curves!” Christina giggled as she shimmied her shoulders and her boobs swayed.
Grace blushed again. “No man wants this hourglass.”
Christina snorted. “That's because you've been dealing with little boys. College guys are all about boobs and sex.”
Grace turned crimson, the heat swirling up into her hairline. “I seriously doubt that.”
Christina turned back to her bag. “Well, hang out with me long enough and I'll prove you wrong!”
Grace had no doubts that hanging out with the wild Christina would land her in hot water. The thought was thrilling. She smiled to herself as she unzipped her bag and began pulling out her clothes.

Forever Autumn by Christopher Scott Wagoner Promo Blitz

Add to Goodreads

Life's going well for Steven Borgia. Sure, he may not be a famous professional wrestler like his father, the legendary Deathslayer, but he has carved out a niche for himself as a beloved kindergarten teacher in New York City. There's just one thing missing: someone special to share his life with.

When Steve meets the sharp-tongued Autumn—a big wrestling fan—he's mesmerized by her sarcastic and bold personality. Feisty and foul-mouthed, she seizes life by the throat and refuses to let it go. They may seem like opposites at first, but they complement each other very well. After all, differences make good sparks, and there are plenty of sparks both in and out of the bedroom.

Steve's new happiness is threatened, however, when Autumn’s life is in jeopardy. Only her estranged father can save her, and he’s nowhere to be found. Can Steve and his bizarre assortment of friends and family reconcile the two before tragedy strikes?

Hilarious and heartwarming, Forever Autumn takes you on a journey that will tickle you in more ways than one.

Steve meets Autumn for the first time.

When he was a few people from the front, he could hear the barista's voice as she attempted to handle a complicated order.

"Vanilla Latte, double shot espresso, extra large," she said, her voice fraught with stress.

"No," said the angry heavyset man at the front of the line. "Vanilla steamer, one shot of espresso, extra large."

"Sorry, sir," she said, "I'm new here."

Steve strained to see the barista's face, but the fat man was nearly as tall as he was, and she was granted total concealment by his corpulent mass.

"Sorry doesn't fix it," said the man, turning away from her with his drink wedged between pudgy fingers. "I intend to speak with the manager about this!"

The man left, people shrinking to get out of his way. Steve was able to see the barista at last. His breath caught in his throat. She had black hair done up in pigtails that cascaded down her slim shoulders. Her eyes were a soft, rich brown, with a slight almond shape to them. Her tan complexion was even and attractive, from her dark brows past her thin, roman nose and down to her wide, feminine lips. She had a metal hoop pierced through her right eyebrow, and a golden stud gleaming over one nostril. The black sweater she wore under her red coffee house apron had the sleeves rolled up the elbows, revealing several tattoos. He could only see her from the waist up, but she had moderately large breasts which strained against the layers of fabric atop them.

The girl took two more orders while Steve stood enthralled. When it was his turn he was still staring at her. She raised an eyebrow, finally heaving an exasperated sigh and asking;

"Can I help you, or are you just trying to catch flies with your mouth?"

"Huh?" he said, sputtering. "Oh, sorry!"

He quickly moved to the counter, offering her a nervous smile. She glanced back at him, one eyebrow arched, as he continued to stare.

"This is the part where you tell me your order," she said sarcastically.

"Your order?" she said. "You know, you, as the consumer, tell me, as the barista, what you want to drink and I make it for you. Are you a foreigner?"

"A foreigner?" he said, his voice breaking.

"No, you speak English too good," she said. "Are you autistic or something, like Rain Man?"

"Uh, no," he said with a slight chuckle.

"Then what's the hold up?"

"Sorry," he said, "I'll have the usual."

"That's great," she said with mock sincerity "except that I'm new here and have no frame of reference as to what your 'usual' is."
"Oh," Steve said, "a large Colombian dark, with four sugars and six creams."

"Holy crap," she said with a short bark of laughter, "you even like the taste of coffee?"

"I'm in a coffee shop, ain't I?" said Steve, growing perturbed.

"Yeah," she said, preparing his order, "you are at that."
She put the cup on the counter and eyed him expectantly.

"This is where you pay." she said.

"Oh, right.” Steve dug in his front pocket. Change spilled out of his hand and onto the counter. He cursed as he strove to collect the pieces of silver as they rolled around at his feet. The barista snickered as he frantically bent over, his butt facing toward her. The frustrated patrons behind him were giving him dark glowers. Had he not been so large a fellow, no doubt some may have been moved to verbally berate him.

"You fucked up,” said Autumn in a singsong, sports fanatic way, “you fucked up, you fucked up!”

Several of the people behind Steve in line gasped, horrified that a sales clerk would curse so readily in front of customers, particularly in such a mocking manner. Steve, however, was overcome with laughter, actually dropping more of his change in his mirth.

“Old ECW chant,” he said, finally giving her the correct amount. “Nice! Haven't heard that since back in the day.”
“You like wrestling?” said Autumn, filling an umbra paper cup with dark coffee.

“Yeah,” said Steve, “I actually used to be one, for a little while.”
“Really?” said the woman, slapping a plastic lid on the cup with some awkwardness, “you don't seem the type...what made you quit?”
“Well,” said Steve, collecting his coffee and a hand full of condiments “I-”
“Yo, buddy,” said a man in a flannel vest a few spaces behind Steve, “flirt on your own time! I gots to get to work!”

Several others, emboldened by the tubby man, added their voices to the chorus.

“Uh,” said Steve, staring into the woman's eyes. He again found himself lost in them, not quite sure knowing why, or caring. “Uh, I-”
“Sorry sugar,” said the woman with a wink, staring past him at the next customer, “I gotta earn my bread. My name's Autumn, in case you can't read my nametag, and that's Autumn like the season, not Auggie like the hideously deformed kid from Wonder, you dig? I work most Tuesdays and Thursdays, so come in and say hey if you want. Or not.”

The Angel Killer by Lisa Voisin Tour & Giveaway

The Angel Killer Synopsis:

Now that she’s found him again, all Mia Crawford wants is some downtime with her fallen angel boyfriend, Michael. But the call of duty keeps him away—from school and from her—with more demons to smite than ever.

When Michael is mortally wounded by a cursed sword, Mia must perform an ancient blood ritual to save him. But the spell exacts a price. Haunted by visions of war, torture, and despair, Mia discovers the world is in more danger than she ever imagined. Behind the scenes, an evil adversary pulls all the strings.

After redemption, there’s Hell to pay.

I found Michael waiting on the stone path outside his basement suite. He greeted me with a brush of his lips, lacing his fingers through mine, and led me into a large back yard, bordered by evergreens. The center of the soft, moist grass featured a rocky pond, complete with a trickling stone fountain and two Adirondack chairs. Though the yard was well kept, leaves from a giant maple lay strewn about like reddish-brown confetti, glistening with raindrops in the late afternoon sun.

Michael tugged off his old, gray hoodie and slung it over one of the chairs. Underneath was the white tank top he normally wore flying. Goose bumps raced along the length of his bare arms. Turning to face me, he shook out his shoulders, the muscles rolling as he gave them a shrug.

“Ready?” he asked.

“Combat training.” He stretched an arm across his chest and cracked his neck as though he were warming up. Was he expecting a workout?

“Combat training? Don’t you think that sounds a bit intense?” I swallowed. My voice sounded tight and high. “Violent, even?”

“What did you expect? Origami?” Stretching his other arm now, he cocked an eyebrow at me. “You wanted me to teach you, right?”

“No—yes.” I cleared my throat. “I mean no, I didn’t expect origami and yes, I want to learn.”

“Good.” He smiled. Was he enjoying my awkwardness? I tuned into his energy, attempting to get a feeling off him, but hit a wall. Was he blocking me? His expression became neutral too.

Above our heads, flyers hovered at the edges of the sigils that surrounded the yard, circling a constant threat, like giant vultures. I motioned to the sky. “Can’t they see us?”

“Not really. They can’t see or hear anything inside the protected space.” Changing the subject, he turned to me and winked. “Ready for your origami lesson? I thought we’d start with escapes.”

I folded my arms across my chest. The idea of fighting Michael felt like a joke—a David and Goliath joke. “Escapes?”

“Yeah. We’re gonna start with the basics. Teach you how to get out of that stranglehold the soldier demon had you in yesterday.” His feet shoulder-width apart, he motioned for me to come closer. “But we can’t do it if you’re all the way over there.”

I took a hesitant step toward him. Though I’d asked for this, the reality of it sounded painful. “Combat training,” I muttered disdainfully.

“I won’t hurt you.”

“I know,” I said, but I wasn’t so sure.

about the author

K.S. Adkins is a full time everything. When I'm not wifing, mothering or being bossy, I'm reading, writing or shooting. A full time realtor, lifelong Michigander and all around lover of all things guns and Detroit, I believe in freedom of foul language, gratuitous nudity, tattoos and mosh pits. I've recently taken up drinking wine and feel like I'm really making progress with it. I think my chances at finding a place within the Romance genre is 50/50, but I suck at numbers so what do I know?

My stories are written with heavy dialogue and are Detroit-based. If you don't like heavy dialogue or Detroit, don't read my stories. My characters are typically dark and fairly fucked up so if you want sappy characters without issues, don't read my stories.

I love violence, guns, blood, naughty words, awkward sex, rap, metal, and untraditional people. Every fight scene was tried and tested by me. I have the bruises to prove it too.

I write romance, but my characters are not always romantic. Each is a work in progress. My stories are about strong women and the alphas who try to tame them, but never do.

At the end of the day, you may not like my stories, you may also think I suck as an author and that's okay, but I have to tell you, I had the best fucking time writing them and for me, that's what it's all about.

At some point in time, consciously or subconsciously—either emotionally, physically, or spiritually—we struggle. Many will strive to withstand their battles, but only those who were born to fight will overcome them.

A true fighter lacks weakness. They abstain from carelessness and refrain from trusting their opponents, but most importantly, they never accept defeat.

I am a true born fighter. Each second of every day, I fight. Rip the ones I love most away from me, I kill. If I’ve learned anything from this life, it’s to always expect the unexpected. As long as my heart continues to beat, and no matter the costs, I will be victorious.
