Spotlight: Mystic Tides by C.J. Godwin

Mystic Tides
by C.J. Godwin
Genre: Young Adult
Synopsis:
C. J. Godwin has just released the first book in her new YA romantic fiction series, bringing a dark classic to light in modern times. Mystic Tides has been published by Outskirts Press, the fastest-growing full-service self-publishing and book marketing company.
In Mystic Tides, an Alaskan native moves to a quiet town in Florida, where he is immediately attracted to a natural beauty with magnetic charm. But he soon realizes that his new love interest might not be who she appears to be, as she begins to show signs of mystical powers that are linked to her equally surprising past.
Atlanta author C. J. Godwin drew inspiration from the classic tale of The Little Mermaid, by Hans Christian Andersen, about a beautiful young mermaid who wants to become a human being and possess an immortal soul. But Andersen’s original story is a far cry from the bright and shiny Disney version of the mermaid tale, and Godwin’s book also presents a darker version of the mermaid myth, making Mystic Tides even more attractive to its young adult audience.
